The American Fund
The Investment Team is made up of ten experienced investment professionals, seven of whom are Partners of Findlay Park Partners LLP.
James Findlay (Founder, Partner) started his investment career in 1978 as a trainee at Hoare Govett before moving to John Govett. He joined Foreign & Colonial as a fund manager in 1983 and has been concentrating on US companies since 1985. In 1997 James and Charlie Park founded Findlay Park Investment Management, before forming Findlay Park Partners LLP in 2003 with the Firm’s third portfolio manager, Anthony Kingsley.
Anthony Kingsley (Partner, Portfolio Manager and CIO) worked with James Findlay at Foreign & Colonial from 1993 to 1997 before joining MFS. He had the role of equity team manager before moving to Findlay Park as a portfolio manager in 2002. Anthony is a founding member of Findlay Park Partners and manages the investment team.
Edward McMullan (Partner, Portfolio Manager) worked at Hermes Fund Managers covering large-cap US companies in the 1990’s before achieving a very successful record running their US small-cap product. Edward joined Findlay Park in 2008.
Chris Fidyk (Partner, Portfolio Manager) specialised in the healthcare sector from 1999 at Banc of America Securities, JP Morgan Securities and Threadneedle Asset Management before joining Findlay Park in 2009.
Jon Tredgett (Partner, Portfolio Manager) was an Executive Director & Deputy Head of the US Equity Desk at Morgan Stanley from 1999 before joining Cheyne Capital LLP in 2006 as a Portfolio Manager and Partner, running their US Absolute Return Strategy and Value Fund. Jon joined Findlay Park in 2011.
John Feeley (Partner, Portfolio Manager) joined Findlay Park in 2011, prior to which he worked at Barings as an investment analyst in global equities and also as a portfolio manager. From 2005 to 2008 he worked as a US equities investment analyst at F&C.
Chris Watts (Partner, Portfolio Manager) joined Findlay Park in 2014 from Atlantic Equities, where he was a founding partner, Telecoms and cable equity analyst and co-head of the research team. Prior to Atlantic, he worked at Cazenove as an equity research analyst from 1998-2003.
Caroline Ader (Equity Analyst) joined Findlay Park in November 2016. Previously she worked in equity research at Fidelity from 2012 where she covered European Consumer Companies. Prior to this she was at Ruffer.
Alastair Pringle (Equity Analyst) joined Findlay Park in January 2017 from Nevsky Capital where he was a Global TMT analyst for two years. Prior to this he worked in equity research at Nomura.
Guy Thomas (Equity Analyst) joined Findlay Park in March 2017 from Fidelity where he spent three and a half years working in Emerging Markets, with a focus on the industrial and consumer sectors, before moving to cover the US. Prior to this, he spent four years working in Investment Banking and Equity Trading at Barclays Capital.
The Latin American Fund
Rupert Brandt (Partner, Portfolio Manager) worked at Foreign and Colonial from 1994 until 2006. Trained by James Findlay, he specialised first in US smaller companies before switching to Latin American markets in 1998. Rupert joined Findlay Park in 2006 to manage Latin American assets.
Peter Cawston (Portfolio Manager) worked at Baillie Gifford from 2001-2008 where he was a fund manager on the North American equity team for four years. Prior to that, he was a trainee fund manager on the Emerging Markets, UK small cap, and North American equity teams.
